I wanted to drop you a line or two about my creative projects. I know we have a lot of other stuff going on, but we have already discussed it, and it does not belong in a blog post. What I want to write to you about today is The Daily Atelier and my creative routines. Shall we proceed?
This year I shall learn new skills
I plan not only to continue to learn drawing and painting and art history, but also to develop new skills in video, more specifically, motion design and animation. You will probably see the fruits of this in my blog posts, as I plan to incorporate more animation into my videos.
This year I shall turn pro
I have had very encouraging feedback on my illustrations, so this is the year I take the leap and go pro with my art. I want to be a professional illustrator and motion designer. There, I have said it.
This year I shall go fully bilingual
In 2019 I want to create a French version of The Daily Atelier for my fellow French-speaking busy creatives.
Oh dear, 2019, there is also something huge I have to learn and implement this year. I have to take my time so as to enjoy the journey and not feel overwhelmed. I think it is going to play out this way:
I shall still post weekly-ish, sometimes in the blog, sometimes in Behind the Scenes.
I shall draw a little something for myself every day, no matter what.
I shall take my time, and not underestimate the amount of work it takes to do something I can be proud of. I don’t want to fall into the perfectionist trap either. I just need to find the right balance.
Ok 2019, let’s do this (gently)!
